India’s leading Liberal Arts University, Ashoka University approached us to create a logo for a new department called the Ashoka Archives.
The goal of the archive is to curate socially, politically and historically relevant information about India. By curating these resources, the archive aims to create an international repository accessible to students, researchers, and academics. Additionally, the department aims to create a physical wing to store these pieces of text and image.
Our logo was a response to this dissemination of information. Through the use of chevrons, we wanted to convey a sense of growth and expansion. The double chevron also created the initials of the archive in a bold and contemporary manner.
